ABOUT THE FOUNDATION

Talent exists everywhere. Opportunity does not.

Asad Education Forward Foundation is being built as a nonprofit public charity that connects students with the people, resources, technology, mentorship, and financial assistance they need to succeed in school and beyond.

OUR MISSION

To expand access to quality education, mentorship, and educational resources so every student can reach their potential.

OUR VISION

A future in which a student's educational opportunities are not limited by family income or access to resources.

WHO WE ARE

Small, credible, measurable, and accountable.

Our first objective is not to become a large organization quickly. It is to run a focused program that produces real educational benefits, then grow what works. We start where students are: Afghanistan and California, with the aim of expanding nationally.

We do not replace schools. We complement them by providing support outside the traditional classroom, working alongside teachers, libraries, universities, and community organizations.

Our combination of tutoring, mentorship, technology, scholarships, and career preparation is what sets us apart. We want to support the whole student, not just one need.

HOW WE WORK

Four groups, one community.

The foundation connects the people who make educational opportunity possible.

Students

Receive tutoring, mentorship, technology, scholarships, and guidance.

Educators

Contribute expertise, lesson resources, and program quality.

Volunteers

Give time and skills as tutors, mentors, translators, and event helpers.

Donors

Provide the financial resources that keep programs free or low-cost.

Schools and community organizations give us access to students and local knowledge.

OUR VALUES

What we stand for.

These seven values guide every program, partnership, and funding decision.

01Opportunity
02Inclusion
03Integrity
04Accountability
05Community
06Student success
07Measurable impact

GOVERNANCE & TRUST

Built to be trusted with students and donations.

Because we work with children and charitable funds, accountability is part of the design.

Board governance

A board with a mix of skills: education, finance, law, accounting, technology, fundraising, business, and community development. Clear policies cover conflicts of interest, financial approval, expense reimbursement, related-party transactions, record keeping, complaints, and whistleblowers.

Student safety

Background screening where appropriate, clear boundaries between adults and students, rules for online communication, transportation, photography, and personal information, and a defined process for reporting concerns and handling emergencies.

Financial responsibility

Nonprofit finances kept completely separate from personal finances, documented financial controls, appropriate insurance, and diversified funding so no single donor controls our direction.

PARTNERSHIPS

We don't try to build everything ourselves.

  • Schools — student referrals and program delivery
  • Universities — student volunteers, interns, and educational partnerships
  • Libraries — space for tutoring and workshops
  • Community organizations — reaching families
  • Businesses — donations, sponsorships, volunteers, internships, equipment
  • Foundations & local governments — grants and community programs
